Matterhorn Nursery in New Hempstead faces a foreclosure auction July 22 to recover $4,217,530.83 owed on a defaulted loan.
The auction will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the second-floor lobby of the Rockland County Courthouse; the sale was adjourned from Aug. 5, 2013.
In 2012 Veronica “Ronnie” and Matt Horn abruptly closed their 34-acre nursery at 227 Summit Park Road.
The Horns originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2010 after a deal to sell 15 acres of unused land to the Town of Ramapo fell through.
The nursery’s filings from that year indicated it had liabilities of about $3.8 million and 64 creditors.
While the nursery is closed, the Horns still operate a landscaping company by the same name.
