Haverstraw village is hosting the American Wind Symphony Orchestra from Aug. 2 to Aug. 4. The orchestra has been touring on the 195-foot-long steel vessel equipped with a 75-foot-wide stage. During their stay in Haverstraw, members of the orchestra will perform from the floating stage. They will interact with local families and high school musicians.
The village wants help from residents to organize this major event. A meeting to launch the effort is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Haverstraw Village Hall at 40 New Main St., Haverstraw.
