Hi Tor Animal Care Center holds its annual open board meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in room 301 at Clarkstown Town Hall, 10 Maple Ave. in New City.
This Q&A meeting provides the public a chance to ask questions, get answers, raise concerns and make suggestions.
Hi Tor is Rockland County’s only animal shelter, caring for more than 2,400 animals annually. It is housed in a dilapidated county-owned building near the Fire Training Center in Ramapo.
A massive fundraising event is being conducted by dozens of volunteers so a modern facility can be built, along with a thrift store to help provide some reoccurring revenue.
