What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. When you become a member of the Cropsey Community Farm CSA, you receive a weekly share of the CSA harvest throughout the growing season. CSA members reap the benefits of sustainable and locally produced food, and in turn agree to share with the farm some of the risks inherent in food production. Some Words from Farm Manager Shane Hardy
Last season was one of enormous growth. We drilled a well and put up a pump house. We built a 30×96 foot high tunnel to extend our growing season and grow specialty crops. A contiguous six acres were planted with cover crops to increase soil fertility, and fence posts are installed to prepare for fencing early spring to make way for planting. This year, our terrific farm team will return to focus on growing tastier, more nutrient dense food, while really giving back to the land. I am honored to be working here, and look forward to seeing folks in the spring!
