South Orangetown school district residents are invited to a conversation about Common Core on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the middle school library.
PTA groups are hosting the public meeting to help educate and inform parents, students and community residents about the new Common Core learning standards that are being embedded into the curriculum.
Superintendent Ken Mitchell and Assistant Superintendent Brian Culot will host the discussion and answer questions like these:
What is the Common Core and what is the rationale for its implementation?
How is South Orangetown managing its implementation?
In the case of snow, the event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11.
