The historic Pyngyp schoolhouse building on Route 210 will be getting heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems Saturday, thanks to generous donations.
EB Design Air Inc. of Hillburn learned the schoolhouse’s need and reached out Lennox Industries, a furnace and heating system manufacturer. Lennox agreed to donate all equipment. Five employees from EB Design Air will be donating their labor to install the equipment at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Stony Point Pyngyp Restoration Committee, along with the Stony Point Historical Society, has been working to restore the century-old schoolhouse building. The effort has been assisted by many individuals in the community, such as retired mason De Holdridge, Highway Superintendent Larry Brissing, Parks Department Supervisor Richie Ryder and Town Board members, said Karl Javenes, chairman of the Restoration Committee who is also chairman of the restoration committee.
