United Hospice of Rockland is hosting its annual veterans recognition event on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Conference Center in West Nyack.
UHR has been holding veterans recognition events for almost 10 years. The events were instituted after the staff was trained by the V.A. on how end of life care needs to be practiced given the dangerous duty many veterans have done.
The event is sponsored by Dignity Memorial and supported by elder law attorneys Lee A. Hoffman Jr. and Sara L. Keating, as well as Neil Goldstein, John Settle, Steve Stavros and John Wickes.
In recognition of the sacrifice and service that veterans have made and to commemorate Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, UHR is inviting veterans and a family member to a screening of “Honor Flight,” which documents how a Midwest community pays homage to its World War II veterans by arranging, through the Honor Flight program, to fly them free of charge to the newly opened World War II memorial in Washington, D.C.
If you know a Veteran who would be interested in attending, contacting Mimi Hoffman at 845.634.4974 or email email@example.com.
