Stony Point police will be checking child safety seats from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to ensure the seats are properly installed during an event at Town Hall at 74 E. Main Street.
The seat check has been planned in conjunction with the Stony Point Farmer’s Market, which will be held next door to Town Hall, and the Stony Point Elementary School PTA ‘Kid’s Day.”
The certified inspectors will not only check the seats, but install them for residents. The inspectors include Sgt. John Wood, and police officers Dennis Tobin and William Skinner.
The Child Passenger Seat program is funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through a grant administered by the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
For more information, call the Wood or Lt. Keith WIlliams at Stony Point Police Department at 845-786-2744.
