Businesses in the same strip mall as the defunct Foodmart International got power back after more than two days of blackout.
Orange and Rockland Utilities cut off power for the strip mall at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for nonpayment, leaving business owners there in the dark.
Eusebio Solano, owner of the convenience store at the mall, called The Journal News on Friday afternoon, saying that they were still in the dark.
Anne Penachio, the court-appointed receiver of rents for the strip mall, said she has been diligently negotiating with O&R to reach an agreement.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, Solano called the newsroom again to inform a reporter that the mall got power back.
But he added that he and five other business owners had to come up with $2,000 each to contribute to the deal between the landlord and O&R.
