If you’re visiting Piermont on Saturday morning and you see firefighters, police, ambulance crews and other emergency personnel running around as if a plane had crash landed in the Hudson River, well, you will be almost correct.
A simulated mass casualty drill is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The staging area will be the Piermont Pier.
The Piermont Fire Department will host the simulated mass casualty incident of a plane landing in the Hudson. Multiple volunteer statewide agencies will be operating from both New York and New Jersey.
Just recently, a powerboat crashed into a construction barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge, not far from Piermont, and numerous agencies responded.
