Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Detective Cyril Kerr has received the certified fraud examiner credential from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Kerr, a member of the District Attorney’s Office Special Investigations Unit, met the ACFE’s character, experience and education requirements for the credential, according to District Attorney Thomas Zugibe.
He has demonstrated knowledge in four areas critical to the fight against fraud: fraudulent financial transactions, fraud prevention and deterrence, legal elements of fraud and fraud investigation.
“By earning the CFE credential, Detective Kerr has made a solid commitment to the fight against fraud in Rockland County,” Zugibe said. “Cyril becomes one of a handful of highly-skilled, certified examiners in the Hudson Valley.”
The Certified Fraud Examiner credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, deterrence and investigation.
Kerr worked for the New York City Police Department and Haverstraw and Piermont departments before joining the prosecutor’s office.
