Spring Valley’s director-choreographer Stacey Roth Tirro just announced on her Facebook page that, after a meeting with Superintendent Joel Klein, the fall play “Up the Down Staircase,” has been restored.
Here’s Tirro’s note:
“2 words, folks: WE’RE BACK!!! Rehearsals resume Thursday. Battle is won, but the war isn’t over. We will likely need to implement a large fundraising effort in the future. More on that later. For now, a MILLION thank you’s to everyone who took the time to write or call. Your letters were incredible and effective. Now you have to come see the show!!”
“Up the Down Staircase” will play at Spring Valley High School at the end of November.

One way to show the East Ramapo board that they are going in the wrong direction is to show strong support for programs like Spring Valleys fall play. If the community doesn’t come out and make this a sell our it would be a terrible shame.
