Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland wants to deliver some fun to its supporters.
For golfers, the 18th Annual “Drive Away Hunger” Golf Outing will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. May 7 at the Philip J. Rotella Memorial Golf course in Thiells. The fee is $250 per golfer. Register at www.mow.golfreg.com.
For walkers, on May 20 there’s the 8:50 a.m. “Walk Away Hunger” and the 8:30 a.m. second Bill Fortune Memorial Run, both at Rockland Lake State Park. The entry fee for the walk is $25 before May 17 and $35 for same-day registration. Register online at www.mowrockland.org or call 845-624-6325 for either the walk or the golfing events.
The Bill Fortune Memorial run is being coordinated by the Rockland Roadrunners. The price is $30 for nonmembers up to May 15 at www.active.com/running/congers-ny/bill-fortune-memorial-10k-and-5k-run-2012
Both events help raise funds for the programs and services provided by Meals on Wheels of Rockland, which is located at 121 West Nyack Road in Nanuet.
