Haverstraw Collaborative to host all-nigtht event for high school students

Posted by: Akiko Matsuda - Posted in North Rockland, Uncategorized on Feb 10, 2012

The Haverstraw Collaborative is sponsoring an overnight event for 50 high school students.

The group has been offering a four-day event during the winter recess in the past years. But this year’s calender shortened the recess.

So instead of the four-day event, an overnight event—from 8 p.m. Feb. 21 to 5:50 a.m. Feb. 22—will be held at Haverstraw Center in the village of Haverstraw.

The event will offer a variety of activities such as dance and workshops. Food will be provided.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Tanya Soto with Haverstraw Center. “This is the first time we do it.”

Registration begins at 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at Haverstraw Center.

Participants need parental permission to stay over night.

Application forms are available at Haverstraw Center at 50 W. Broad St., Haverstraw.

Call 845-429-5713 ex. 17 for more information.

The four-day event, Unity in the Community, will be held in April.
