The Stony Point Town Board last night unanimously approved the appointment of James McDonnell to the vacant Town Board seat.
McDonnell, 69, who has been the town’s Zoning Board of Appeal chairman for many years, was sworn in immediately after the board’s approval.
McDonnell’s seat was vacated when Town Board member Geoffrey Finn took office as town supervisor Jan. 1. Finn’s remaining Town Board term runs through the end of 2013, but McDonnell will have to run for election this fall to secure his seat.
