The Rockland County AIDS Consortium will offer free, rapid HIV testing today as part of World AIDS Day.
Testing will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union at at Rockland Community College in Ramapo. Rapid HIV testing, which provides results in about 20 minutes, will take place in a private area in the Student Union.
Agencies that provide services for people with HIV and their families will distribute educational materials and answer questions in the Atrium of the Cultural Arts Center. In addition, there will be informational displays and an ongoing slide presentation.
The Hudson Valley HIV Community Network observed a minute of silence at noon to remember those who have died and to show support for all who are currently living with HIV and AIDS.
