Penny Joy Lang of Nanuet won first prize on Oct. 29 at the Petco Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest in Nanuet. Penny won a $15 Petco gift card, a first-prize ribbon, and a goody bag filled with cookies, canned dog food, a bandanna and a few other treats. Penny is a 16½ -year-old basset hound who was dressed up as a flower princess. Her owner, Melissa Lang created, designed and made her costume.
