Here’s a creative way to recycle the clothes you were planning to donate, and make your own fashion statement.
It’s a Swap-O-Rama-Rama that’s set from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Germonds Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall. The church is at 39 Germonds Road in New City. Admission is $10 and a bag of gently used clothing.
This is the second Swap-O-Rama-Rama at the church, which hosted its first giant clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in 2009. This year, sewing machines are going to be supplied by Above and Beyond Creative Sewing Shop. Participants take the used clothing and make new items.
As with the past event, this Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a fundraiser for Home Aides of Rockland Inc., a licensed not-for-profit home care agency. All proceeds from the event will support the Reduced Rate Home Care Program.
