Maureen Caunitz, left above, received the 2011 Harvey Pachter Staff Recognition Award from United Hospice of Rockland, which is based in New City.
The UHR receptionist was honored during an awards breakfast on June 30 at the Paramount Country Club in New City. The hospice board of directors reviews the nominations and selects a winner, who also receives a check for $700.
Caunitz, who has been employed at UHR for 18 years, was cited by Executive Director Amy Stern, right above, who said, “She is the first introduction to hospice for many of our patients and families. … She has the unique ability to make everyone she speaks with feel special and the focus of her concern.”
Employees were also recognized with the Harvey Pachter Longevity awards. Look for the complete list in a coming “People in the News” column, which runs on Sundays in Rockland.
