If people tell you you’re funny, you might consider where you’ll be on Thursdays in July.
That’s when the search for the Lower Hudson Valley’s Funniest will be held, at Slattery’s of Piermont Landing in Piermont. Beginning July 14 and running through the Aug. 4 finale, local comedy producers will let you go for the laughs in a contest that includes cash prizes, comedy bookings, gift certificates to local businesses and the title of “Lower Hud’s Funniest Person.”
It’s open to those from Rockland, Westchester, Orange and northern Bergen counties and a percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Hudson Valley Humane Society. So even if you dog it, you’ll be helping out an actual dog. To register, go to the Lower Hud’s Funniest website to download a registration form. Entry fee is $20. Seating is limited, so call Slattery’s to reserve a table at 845-398-1943. There’s a $15 cover and a $14 minimum.
Organizer Peggy Boyce says if you win on any of the preliminary nights, you’re green-lighted for the Aug. 4 finale.
The concert is sponsored by Palisades-based Admire Entertainment, Ladies of Laughter, The Comic Bible and LoHud Hi Def Comedy.
