The Young Democrats of America, an official youth arm of the Democratic Party, will be holding its northeast regional convention Saturday and Sunday at the Old 76 House in Tappan and the Hilton Pearl River.
Young Democrats from across the region will discuss practices and strategies on electing Democrats. They will also talk about measures to make sure that young people are represented in the political process.
The convention includes training on new media, lobbying, growing the party in marginalized communities and how to run cost-effective ballot initiatives.
On Sunday, a morning breakfast features young Democrats who are serving in regional and local elective office, followed by a meet-and-greet with Christine Pelosi, daughter of the former speaker of the House of Representatives.
