Italian feast opens Thursday

The Sons of Italy Blauvelt Lodge will host an Italian feast and carnival  from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday on the grounds of the Masonic Park, 89 Western Highway in Tappan.

The event will feature numerous rides, games of chance, traditional Italian food, beer and wine, live entertainment, the presentation of the first annual Order Sons of Italy Award of the Arts to actor Armand Assante, and an outdoor Mass at noon Sunday. An opening ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday and include many elected officials.

Proceeds will benefit the charitable works of the lodge.
