On Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked three jet planes and crashed them into the two World Trade Center towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
The terror attacks killed more than 3,000 people and transfixed our nation and the world.
As we cross the ninth anniversary of the attacks, The Journal News and its network of sister newspapers and TV stations is launching a special year-long project ahead of the 10th anniversary and, as part of that project, seeking reader reflections from that terrible day.
