Nyack trustee Doug Foster will not seek the new position of village administrator should the Village Board decide to create the job.
That could happen as early as tomorrow night after an 8 p.m. public hearing.
Foster had expressed interest in managing day-to-day affairs at Village Hall, but some residents raised concerns about the hiring process.
Mayor Richard Kavesh also had recused himself from the hiring process because he had encouraged Foster to seek the post.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at Nyack Village Hall, 9 N. Broadway. The budget workshop scheduled for 6 p.m. has been cancelled.
Only three trustees — Kavesh, Steve Knowlton and Jen White — are expected to attend tomorrow’s meeting, so it wasn’t clear if a vote would occur.
